Another Vaccine ?!
The World Health Organization has approved the first malaria vaccine.
The news did not make the front pages of many newspapers, yet it is one of the most important news items for the lives of millions and millions of people, including a great many children. To give you an idea, a child dies from this disease every 2 minutes.
My family comes from a region - Maremma - where malaria was a killer until last century. When I was a child, malaria was often came up in the stories told by the elderly. When I first went to Africa, those memories took shape. I feared a disease for which there was no vaccine and which simply had to be avoided. From today onwards, things could change. The vaccine seems to have an effect on all parasitic diseases: in the case of malaria it works by counteracting Plasmodium falciparum, the most deadly and widespread of the five pathogens involved. So it is not a definitive solution, but the studies clearly say that “it has the potential to make a substantial contribution to malaria control when used in combination with other effective control measures, especially in high transmission areas”.
If this news passed you by, well… we are happy to be able to give it to you on these pages.

The Holi Haven is looking to raise funds for our community that is growing at a miraculous rate! As we continue to live and share our lifestyle with those who visit us here in the Corcovado jungle of Costa Rica, more and more people are inspired to choose this lifestyle over the traditional timetable lifestyle that has been presented. Many of us are choosing freedom now and making our passions our “work,” making our lifestyles our teachings, and seeing value in what sustains our lives and happiness. With so many passions, we are in need of more outlets for them to fully develop and express themselves. We need help and donations to expand the Holi Haven and provided space for more people to experience our jungle retreats, plant-based vegan cuisine, a course in miracles, nature integration, ceremonial physical and spiritual activations, and community practices. Any money, skills, products, or even ideas are all tremendously helpful. This will allow us space to integrate more free beings into this new, naturally sustainable lifestyle. Supporting a new world that will flourish and to provide more opportunities for our community to gather and to expand into the passionate and intimate beings we are. We make freeing yourself feel like ecstasy with our fresh nourishing meals, natural activities, sacred and creative practices, and therapeutic conversations. We provide up to a two-week jungle lodge stay, complete with mind-blowing meals that will change your life.

I chose this poem by Jorge Carrera Andrade to introduce the page about our work in Ecuador on the Treedom website. I believe this page tells you some things that you – keepers of trees planted in this magical country – perhaps already know... or perhaps you don’t.
I think this is a good introduction to the spell – in the true sense of the word – of a land where nature and culture seem to share the same magical vein. A land where growing a tree takes on a particular meaning that it’s good to be aware of. And this is another step to continue our story. Enjoy reading!

Any news from Nepal? Well... this time we’re delighted to give you some really good news! We’ve recently received a new report from our local partner, ASIA, and there’s some news I want to share with you.
Of the 64,500 plants we planned to plant and geolocate this year, 52,700 have already been moved to the ground (mainly coffee and banana trees). We’re also working on creating two new nurseries! One of them is the one you can see in the photo, which is located near the community of Uttargaya. Well... work has just begun, but we believe it’s a great investment for the future. The great thing is that with this new infrastructure we can produce even more seedlings by 2022. It remains to be seen whether we’ll be able to further increase the forest plan. I think so and personally, I’m already looking forward to going back to Nepal.
However, there’s another fact, perhaps the most important one: 771 beneficiaries, mainly local farmers from 13 different communities around Uttargaya, have already been selected and trained to participate in our projects. This means: 771 people we can offer prospects to. Can you imagine my joy?
Thank you for your support.

How is Texas Healing the CO2 Footprint?
Incentivizing Adoption Of Natural Infrastructure
Feagin said there is an opportunity to ride the wave of increased public interest in reducing the carbon footprint of projects during and after construction.
The broad acceptance of the burgeoning construction concepts can be accelerated by incentivizing their use through an executive order in a way that would expedite implementation in publicly funded projects, Feagin said.
Offering a discounted or incentivized rate would mean project planning would take a longer-term view of infrastructure projects, Feagin said, and taxpayers would get more value from their investment. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers already operates at the lower rate, which is why they are one of the leading users of natural infrastructure in projects.
“That would be an easy lever to pull, and decision-makers would start selecting projects that provide longer-term lifecycles,” he said. “It’s a small incentive to change, but it could pay huge dividends when it comes to adopting these concepts and speeding up the transition toward increased use of natural infrastructure within future construction.”

Treedefi is the best project to date that uses the Blockchain in order to plant trees worldwide thru the use of the following tokens.
SEED is the main engine behind our yield farm, and features deflationary emission, which lowers by 2% each week.
TREE is our most scarce token, with a supply of only 16000. It is used for governance and special events.
TCO2 is the direct equivalent of the Co2 absorbed by our NFTrees. It’s used for passive income and offset certificates.

Common Name(s): Hibiscus
Phonetic Spelling {haɪˈbɪskəs}
Description:
The hibiscus plant, or Hibiscus sabdariffa, may be best known for its bright, beautiful blossoms, which naturally transport the imagination to a warm, tropical paradise. These bold, delicate flowers have commonly been enjoyed for their decorative beauty and used in sacred devotional ceremonies, but their generous offerings don’t end there. The hibiscus flower also carries a soothing, purifying, and healing energy that makes it a precious and powerful herbal ally.
Hibiscus is a hardy plant, which thrives in tropical and subtropical regions, and is mainly produced in China (East Asia), Sudan (Africa) and Thailand (Southeast Asia).
While the fresh petals are edible, it's the calyx of the plant, the collection of sepals that protect the bud and supports the petals when in bloom, that are best dried and used for cooking.
Hibiscus has a tart and sour flavour, similar to cranberry or pomegranate, with floral overtones. It's also a great source of vitamin C.
